Last week, Mlive.com took nominations for Michigan’s Best Doughnut. Today, they have opened up Regional Voting! They will be accepting votes from Monday September 21st through Noon Friday September 25th!

We are proud to have been nominated to participate in the Best Doughnuts in Michigan Lansing Region! If you feel we have earned your vote, please do so by Noon on Friday 9/25!

Cider Donuts Are Back

With Apple Cider being back in season, so is one of our favorite donuts: the Apple Cider Cake Donut! Free Donuts For Lansing Area Veterans and Service Members

The Lansing Area Veterans Coalition will be hosting “Coffee Break” events at Groovy Donuts this week! All Veterans and Service Members will receive a Free Classic Donut and 12oz Coffee, generous provided by the LAVC. Upon arrival, check in with the LAVC Group to get your Free Coffee + Donut!

Thursday 9/24: Williamston Location back parking lot will host the LAVC Tent

Friday 9/25: East Lansing Location - LAVC Tent will be set up at side parking lot

Michigan’s Best Doughnut Contest

Mlive.com has been leading the way on discovering Michigan’s Top Culinary Treats, including pizza, burgers and, of course, doughnuts! Yesterday, they announced they will be conducting a State-Wide nomination process for Best Doughnuts in Michigan (nominations must be submitted by Friday Sept 18th). After that, regional polls will be put out for voting. Here’s an excerpt from “Help Us FInd Michigan’s Best Doughnut.”:

How to make a nomination

Send us an email. Tell us the name of your favorite doughnut shop, its address or at least what city it’s located in, and what makes their doughnuts so good. Tell us if your favorites, too. Put “Michigan’s Best Doughnut is at......." Be sure to include the name of the shop in the subject field.

As the seasons change, so does our donut line up! Last week, we re-introduced our Pumpkin Spice Donut with Gluten Free and Vegan Options! This week, we are happy to announce that our Bismark Lineup will include: Carmel Apple and Lemon Bismarks (replacing Blueberry and Cherry for the Fall Season)! Strange Brew Coffee Mug

We are pleased to announce that our collaboration with the Studio Shop in Williamston has resulted in a groovy new addition to our merchandise! Strange Brew is a riff on a classic blues song popularized by the Clapton-led Super Group, Cream. We felt it a fitting title for coffee or tea! The Strange Brew 15oz Mug includes far out artwork designed by local art legend, Dennis Preston, and is now available at both locations and in our Online Store!

Groovy Donuts is Turning 5!

It feels like yesterday, but we opened our doors for the first time in Williamston on the morning of Friday September 1st, 2015! The following year, we opened our second location in East Lansing and have since established wholesale relationships with Horrocks Farm Market in Lansing’s West Side, Foster Coffee Co in East Lansing and Campbell’s Market Basket and will be providing donuts to Meijer’s Capital City Market in Downtown Lansing (when it opens this Fall). It has been our pleasure to to serve donuts and coffee to thousands and thousands in the Greater Lansing Area, participate in local events, and host fundraisers for local non-profits.

Yes, we’ve had our ups and downs, but it is an experience we wouldn’t trade for anything. We appreciate the 5 years that you have supported us and hope to make it many more!
