As the news surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic has continued to change daily, we have been having difficult conversations to determine how to best maintain the safety of our staff and valued customers, while keeping our small, local business going. Governor Whitmer and her team has issued mandates this morning, which have helped confirm the decisions we arrived at yesterday afternoon.
Groovy Donuts will be making the following adjustments to our services and schedule to best assist in social distancing and maintaining the health and safety of our team and valued customers:
1. We will be suspending all Dine-In services and convert to CARRY OUT ONLY
a. We encourage our customers to call in orders ahead, to reduce time waiting in line
b. We will be offering “Window Service”: we will deliver your order to your car window, if you call ahead to place and pay for your order over the phone
c. We will be temporarily closing our restrooms to the public
2. We will be reducing our hours to the following:
a. Tues – Friday: 6am – Noon and Sat – Sunday: 7am – Noon
3. We would request that all customers avoid any unnecessary contact with surfaces, especially service counters
a. Please avoid placing your children on counter tops
b. Please avoid placing personal belongings on service counters
4. All coffee and coffee related items will be kept behind the service counter and will be handled exclusively by our staff
a. We will serve all coffees in disposable cups – we will be asking our staff to avoid handling personal coffee containers (mugs brought in by customers)
b. All cream, sugar, etc will be handled by our team or placed in a to-go bag for customer
5. Please do your part by keeping your distance from your fellow groovy customers
6. Finally, while we don’t wish to turn any business away: if you feel sick or have been around others who are sick, please refrain from visiting ours or any other establishment until the pandemic has abated.

Fat Tuesday is coming up quick (February 25th) and Groovy Donuts is gearing up for its 5th Paczki Day Celebration! To say that Fat Tuesday is our busiest day of the year may not do it justice. Our first year open for Fat Tuesday we sold about 1,500. This past year we made nearly 5,000. We anticipate an even bigger turnout this year.

Vegan Paczki Available for the First Time at Groovy Donuts!
We are very excited to be offering Vegan Paczki for the first time this year! We’ve had some requests over the past couple years and realized that we had to come up with a groovy vegan option. We put some research into it and are very proud to have a version of the paczki that will satisfy our vegan or dairy free customers! Our vegan paczki flavors include: Cream, Blueberry, Lemon and Apple. We are accepting Fat Tuesday Pre-Orders Now and will have Vegan Paczki available in stores by Saturday February 22nd!

While we haven’t managed to perfect a GF paczki option, we will be serving our Gluten Free Cake Donuts with flavors including Espresso Glaze with Chocolate Drizzle, Cinnamon Sugar, Vanilla Icing with Sprinkles, Chocolate Icing and Carmel Icing!
Crème Brulee Paczki Make for a Decadent Paczki Experience
Looking for a unique twist on the paczki? Filled with custard and topped with sugar that is melted (using a culinary torch) into a delicious, crackling crust, the Crème Brulee Paczki takes the traditional Fat Tuesday treat to the next level of decadence! Due to the time these take to make (each one is prepared by hand individually), we recommend you place a pre-order to guarantee you get yours. If your timing is good, you may get to see your Crème Brulee torched right in front of you!
Groovy Donuts Paczki Available Throughout the Lansing Area
For those on the west side who may be wondering if we’re offering paczki at Horrocks, instead of our typical fare, the answer is a resounding yes! Groovy Donuts paczki will be available for sale at Horrocks Farm Market on Monday February 24th and Fat Tuesday February 25th. We will ensure that the display case at Horrocks remains full, all day long and will make several deliveries out there to make sure that Lansing’s west side is stocked up on Paczki!

For those of you who can’t wait until Fat Tuesday to get your hands on the traditional Polish treats, Groovy Donuts will begin serving paczki on Saturday February 15th (the day after Valentine’s Day)!
Also, for the first time ever, Groovy Donuts will be offering Vegan Paczki on Fat Tuesday February 25th!
Groovy Donuts is accepting orders for V-Day donuts and will have them in stores Sat and Sun 2/8-2/9 and Tuesday 2/11 through Friday 2/14! Custom Valentine’s Day orders must be placed by Wed 2/12.
We are excited to announce that we will be offering Groovy Donuts On Mondays ONLY at Horrocks Farm Market (Lansing), Campbell’s Market Basket (East Lansing) and Foster Coffee Co (East Lansing). Donuts will be available at these locations starting Monday January 13, 2020!
Our goal is to acclimate our Bakery Team to a 7-Day Per Week schedule and eventually open our Williamston and East Lansing locations on Mondays as well. Keep you eye on our website and social media channels for announcements in the near future!
